Ray and Shannon Bartlett

Licensed Funeral Directors

#Ray and Shannon Bartlett have been serving bereaved families together since 1996, helping families plan meaningful, personalized services for their loved ones. They are both licensed funeral directors at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Ray was born in Aurora, Nebraska, and grew up and attended school in Harvard, Nebraska through the 8th grade. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1990, and graduated from the University of Nebraska - Kearney in 1994. Ray earned his degree in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota, and completed his internship at a funeral home in Springfield, Minnesota. Ray worked as a licensed director in Willmar, Minnesota, where he also worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for the Willmar Ambulance Service. Ray enjoys hunting, fishing, flying model airplanes, working on the farm and spending time with his family.

Shannon was born in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota and grew up on her family's farm near Morgan, Minnesota. She attended school in Morgan and graduated from Cedar Mountain High School in 1992. Shannon attended Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota, Willmar Community College in Willmar, and the University of Minnesota, where she earned her Mortuary Science degree. Shannon completed her internship at a funeral home in Willmar, Minnesota and later worked as a licensed director in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Shannon's hobbies include riding horse, traveling, playing all sports, and spending time with family and friends.

In August 1997, Shannon and Ray were married in Morgan, Minnesota. Ray and Shannon reside in Litchfield with their three sons, Kaleb, Kaden, and Kole.




Steve Nelson

Licensed Funeral Director

#Steve was born and raised in Litchfield. He graduated from Litchfield High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Before joining the staff at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Steve lived and worked in the Twin Cities area and more recently, in northern Minnesota.

Steve and his wife Michelle reside in Litchfield with their two daughters, Aili and Helena. A few of Steve's interests include family activities, traveling, camping, music, reading and watching movies and sports.




Shannon Asmus

Licensed Funeral Director

#Shannon was born in Morris, MN., but grew up in Litchfield graduating from the Litchfield High School in 1985. While in high school he worked for the Johnson family doing outdoor maintenance. After Shannon finished his studies in Mortuary Science at the University of Minnesota in 1989 he worked in Minneapolis for a few years before returning to Litchfield and working at the funeral home as a funeral director. On April 21, 2001 Shannon married Carrie Peterson who grew up in Grove City and graduated from Grove City High School. In 2002 Shannon and Carrie left Litchfield and moved to Storm Lake, Iowa, but returned in 2004 to assume a new role with the funeral home.

Today Shannon not only serves Litchfield area families during their time of need, but works with other area funeral homes and directors helping to maintain a high level of service to all. Shannon and Carrie are members of the First Lutheran Church and the Litchfield Lions Club. During his spare time Shannon is passionate about golf and can be found at the Litchfield Golf Course.




Shirley Klitzke

Pre-Arrangement Specialist

#Shirley grew up on a farm near Stewart, Minnesota and graduated from Glencoe High School. For many years, she enjoyed owning and operating her own cosmetology business. After becoming interested in the insurance industry, she and her family moved to the Litchfield-Darwin area, where they currently reside. Shirley joined the staff at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in 2006, to help provide families an opportunity to plan their funerals in advance. Shirley states, "I feel that preplanning offers families an opportunity to make funeral arrangements and decisions before the need arises, which I believe is so important. The reflection of the individual's life that is being celebrated, and the lasting tribute to a loved one, will be remembered forever." Shirley still enjoys being involved in the insurance industry, helping and servicing families. She especially enjoys helping families work with the cancer and life aspect of insurance. Some of Shirley's favorite pastime activities include family time and outdoor activities, as well as reading, music and dancing. Shirley and her husband Burt have two children and one grandson.




Ann Konietzko

Family Services Coordinator

#Ann was born in Hutchinson, MN and grew up in Brownton, Minnesota. After high school, she completed nurse's training as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Meeker County Memorial Hospital for fifteen years and then at Augustana Homes for almost twenty-four years. Ann was united in marriage to Don Konietzko in 1964 at Stewart, Minnesota. They have three children and 6 grandchildren. Spending time with family and friends, sewing, crocheting, clothes shopping, playing cards and dominoes, and "listening" are her favorite pastimes. She is a member of the Catholic Council of Women and is active in church activities, serving as a reader and Eucharistic minister-both in church and occasionally to the homebound. She belongs to the Litchfield Area Ministerial Association and serves as an active volunteer with the Litchfield Area Hospice.




Ron Johnson

Support Staff

#Ron was born in Omaha, Nebraska where he attended elementary and high school. He graduated from the University of Nebraska -Omaha with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in a pre-medical course of study. Upon graduation, he went to work for the U.S. Public Health Service managing categorical disease programs until 1973. Leaving the government, Ron began working for a hospital consortium in Pittsburgh. While there, he returned to the University of Pittsburgh for a Masters Degree in Public and International Affairs. He began his career as a hospital administrator in 1980 working for the Livingston Memorial Hospital in Livingston, Montana. The family moved to Litchfield, MN in 1986 where he was administrator for fifteen successful years at Meeker County Memorial Hospital. Ron retired in 2002.

Ron married Sharon in 1963. They were blessed with two sons: Eric and his older brother Jeff who died suddenly in 1987 from leukemia.

Ron enjoys retirement working part time for Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and Cremation Service and the Litchfield Golf Course. He is active in the work of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoys singing in the choir and doing solo work when called on. He takes pride in his many home improvement projects and is currently a commissioner on the Meeker County Housing and Redevelopment Authority Board.
