Elizabeth Ann Swenson went to her eternal rest on June 27th, 2019. She is the Daughter of Elmer and Lois Swenson of Grove City Minnesota. Elizabeth was born on March 2nd 1937 in Willmar Minnesota. She moved to Grove City when she was 2 years old. Liz was very active during her high school years. She was first chair clarinet in the band. A cheerleader for 6 years, sang in the high school chorus and was part of a quartet. She was on the school newspaper staff and also part of the annual staff. Elizabeth was the Football Homecoming Queen her senior year. She attended St. Cloud State College and the University of Minnesota, graduating with an Associate in Arts degree. She enjoyed classical music, art and keeping up with her family and friends. Although she spent her adult life living in Minneapolis, she enjoyed reading the Litchfield Independent Review. This kept her informed of the area news and local folks which brought back fond memories of her younger days. Being a devout Catholic, Elizabeth led a prayerful life in anticipation of meeting her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May the Lord keep her in His everlasting remembrance.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her siblings, Dr. Richard J. Swenson, Marjorie Borgerding, Dr. Gregory T. Swenson (Jeanette), Mary Jo Daugherty. Plus 21 nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at the Church of St. Philip Catholic Church, 821 East 5th Street, Litchfield Minnesota. Viewing will be at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, July 5, 2019 . Rosary at 10:30-10:45 AM. Holy Mass will begin at 11AM. She will be interred at Calvary Catholic Cemetery immediately following Mass.
Elizabeth Swenson’s family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church of St. Philip.
