Joan C. Loch, 83 of Eden Valley, formerly of Litchfield, St. Cloud and Watkins, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins with interment in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. A rosary will be prayed at 3:45 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Ertl Funeral home.
Joan Catherine Loch was born on May 26, 1936 in Watkins, MN. She was the daughter of Ernest and Rosella (Stenger) Ray. On August 29, 1953, Joan was united in marriage to Clifford N. loch at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. They resided in Litchfield prior to moving to St. Cloud from 1970 to 1998. They then resided in Watkins until moving to Eden Valley in 2005. Joan was employed as a cook for the St. Cloud Children’s Home for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Eden Valley Senior Citizens, Litchfield VFW Post #428 and Wat-Kim-Valley Post #5460 Auxiliaries. Her hobbies included embroidering, crocheting, sewing, reading and word search puzzles. Joan especially enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Shirley (Al) Bednar of St. Cloud, Nancy (Jim) Darnell of La Grange, KY, Doug (Kathy) Loch of Eden Valley, Dennis (Pam) Loch of Watkins, Dave Loch of Eau Claire, WI, Darrel Loch of Sauk Rapids, Penny (Steve) Pogue of Litchfield, Cindy (Kelvin) Torkelson of New London, Sandy (Dave) Hecimovich of Clear Lake; 23 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Judy (Myron) Kuechle of Watkins, Jane (Dick)Fisher of Watkins, Ernest, Jr. (Alva) Ray of Litchfield.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; 4 grandchildren; sister, Betty Scholtes.
