Alpha Ilene Jaques

Alpha I. Jaques, age 92 of Litchfield, MN died on March 11, 2019 at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church, Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Aitkin, MN. Alpha Ilene Jaques, the daughter of Alfred and Inga (Peterson) Jaques was born in Aitkin, MN on August 22, 1926. She was baptized in October 1926 and confirmed on July 17, 1943 at First Lutheran Church in Aitkin, MN. She graduated from Aitkin High School in 1944 and also graduated from the Luther Bible Institute and the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing. Ilene was a missionary in Africa for 30 years, being sponsored by the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield for the last ten years. When she returned to Litchfield she worked as a registered nurse at Augustana Home. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield and the World Mission Prayer League. Her uncle was the painter Frances Lee Jaques. She enjoyed reading, flowers and her time spent in missions in Africa. She is survived by her brother Alfred (Betty) Jaques of Rockville, MD; sisters Donna (Daryl) Johnson of Lindstrom, MN and Helen Renfrew of Borup, MN; sister-in-law Katie Jaques; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Inga; brother Vernon, sisters Erma Ann and Idena Beckman; and brother-in-law Raymond Renfrew.
