Ardella M. Solbrack, age 83, of Litchfield, MN died on Friday May 19, 2017 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held from 5 - 8 PM on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Lake Ripley Cemetery. Ardella Mae Solbrack, the daughter of William and Mildred (Toensing) Gratz was born in Kandiyohi County, MN on September 3, 1933. She grew up in Atwater, MN where she graduated valedictorian from Atwater High School in 1951. She moved to Minneapolis, and graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 1953. Ardella was united in marriage on June 11, 1955 to David Solbrack at St. John Lutheran Church in Atwater, MN. She worked for the F.B.I in Minneapolis before moving to Milan, MN in 1958. In 1966 she moved to Litchfield, MN where she worked as a legal secretary for Judge Williams at the Meeker County Courthouse. Throughout the years Ardella also worked at the Thomton, Sperry, and Jensen Law Office, and was an administrative assistant for First District Association, Cardinal Farms, Litchfield Travel Service and the Meeker County Law Enforcement. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and enjoyed being active in the community with the Women's Church Circle, Lioness, the GFWC Woman's Study Club of Litchfield, GAR Hall, Anderson Gardens, Stephen Ministries and the Meeker County Relay for Life committee. Ardella enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, knitting, working on logic and jigsaw puzzles, doing crafts including ceramics and painting, and attending her grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Egypt and taking summer trips throughout the U.S. She especially enjoyed the annual family camping and blueberry picking weekend. Whether by choice or circumstances she became a sports fan who spent her share of time sitting in the bleachers as a mother of three athletic boys and the wife of a coach. Ardella will also be remembered as a very good cook and gracious host, especially when entertaining at the cabin on Diamond Lake. Ardella is survived by her husband David Solbrack of Litchfield, MN; sons Steve (Liz Andress) Solbrack of Golden Valley, MN, Mike (Marj) Solbrack of Litchfield, MN and Dan (Diane) Solbrack of Cambridge, MN; 7 grandchildren Shuree Solbrack, Nicole Kilborn, Kristian (Anna) Bejarin, Aaron Solbrack, Kristen Solbrack, Anna (Jarl) Abrahamson and Laura Solbrack; 7 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; sisters Arlene (Don) Behm of Big Lake, MN and Phyllis (Jim) Quist of Ferndale, WA; sister-in-law Carol (Paul) Westberg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Mildred Gratz.
