Ardella D. Voigt, age 93 of Litchfield, MN, passed away Monday June 15, 2020 at the Dassel Lakeside Nursing Home. A private family funeral service will be held at First Lutheran Church, Litchfield, MN. A public visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday June 18 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service. Interment will be in Arndahl Lutheran Cemetery, Grove City. Ardella Deloris Voigt, the daughter of Charles and Alma (Peterson) Heining was born on November 6, 1926 at home in rural Atwater, MN in Gennessee Twp. She attended grade school in Atwater and later the family moved to the farm south of Grove City during the depression. She graduated at the top of her class at Grove City High School in 1944. She attended teachers training in Litchfield after high school and started teaching in County School District #25 for 7 years prior to her marriage to Arlo on October 27, 1951. They drove up to Wadena, MN to be married by Ardella’s confirmation pastor Nelson. The went to his church in Wadena to be married and made it home in time to milk cows. They raised six children in the 1950’s. She worked hard on the farm in Grove City. She was a member of Arndahl Lutheran Church while raising her family and in later years she was a member of First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Ardella enjoyed gardening, embroidering, crocheting, knitting, baking her homemade bread and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is survived by her children Laurie (Alan) Boll of Litchfield, MN, Janelle (Gene) Hoekstra of Litchfield, MN, Chuck Voigt of South Haven, MN, Richard (Lyn) Voigt of Grove City, MN and Venita McCormick of Litchfield; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren with one more due in June; 2 great great grandchildren with one due in October. She was preceded in death by her husband Arlo; daughter Heidi Voigt; parents Charles and Alma; infant brother Ardell Heining; grandson Martin Hoekstra; sister Evelyn Lundeen; brother-in-law Roger Lundeen and her dog Lucille.
