Avis M. Thomsen

Avis Thomsen, 62, beloved mother, was called to her eternal resting place on April 23, 2017 at the Cedar Crest Estate in Cosmos. She entered this world on April 8, 1955 in Litchfield, MN, born to Harold and Clara Schmidt. She is survived by her children, daughter Kari Trumbo (Matt Trumbo) and their 4 children, son Daniel Thomsen, two sisters Caroline Thomas and Elaine Dollerschell, one brother Henry Schmidt, and former husband Keith Thomsen. A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 27th. at 1 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. Avis Marie Thomsen, the daughter of Harold and Clara (Johnson) Schmidt, was born on April 8, 1955 in Litchfield, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1972. Avis was united in marriage to Keith Thomsen on July 7, 1973 at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She worked at Carlson's Meat Market in Grove City and Custom Products in Litchfield before continuing her education at the Willmar Technical College. She worked as a nurses assistant at the nursing home and Bethany Home in Litchfield and later worked as a veterinary assistant at the Haugo Veterinary Clinic in Litchfield. She enjoyed cross stitch, embroidery, quilting, golfing, fishing, playing tennis and guitar and spending time with her family and pets. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Clara and infant brother Karl.
