Beverly ‘Bev’ J. Anderson, age 89, of Litchfield, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on April 1, 2026. Visitation will also be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday March 31, 2026 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Beverly Jean Anderson, the daughter of Howard and Esther (Ouverson) Friedricks was born on January 24, 1937, in Canby, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from Canby High School in 1955 and was a clerical worker in Minneapolis for a few years. She was united in marriage with Kenneth Anderson on September 1, 1956, in Canby, MN and moved to Litchfield shortly after. They were blessed with 4 daughters: Patricia Vicky, Janet, and Sandra.
In 1968, they purchased the family farm where Ken and Bev farmed for many years. Bev was very active on the farm and worked side by side with her husband Ken. She was a member of First Lutheran Church where she enjoyed the quilting group and B.R.E.W. She loved working with children and was known as “Grandma Bev” at the elementary school where she was a volunteer. She loved animals. She helped run the family popcorn stand that stood in Central Park in the 1970’s. She knitted many slippers and baby blankets. She enjoyed traveling, camping, bowling, fishing, playing cards, bingo, casino trips, and operating John Deere equipment. She was very competitive in the county fair tractor pulls.
Beverly is survived by her daughters Patricia (Douglas) Birkeland of Maple Grove, Vicky (John) Lysne of Owatonna, Janet (Allan) Andreen of Litchfield, Sandra (Warren) Hickman of Litchfield, brother Harvey (Donna) Friedricks of Wasilla, Alaska, and sister-in-law Mary (Kendall) Lawson of Litchfield, MN; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, and other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents Howard and Esther, husband Kenneth, sister Vivian Ronne and brother-in-law Raymond Ronne, niece Sharon Hampton, and many other loved family members and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. We are blessed to know she is resting with the Lord.
