Lisa Chellin’s husband, Bruce Ekdahl, age 86, of Grove City, Minnesota during the summer and Lake Wales, Florida nine months out of the year, passed away on August 4, 2023. A funeral service will take place on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 10:00AM at Harvest Community Church in Litchfield. All are welcome to come out to the farm for lunch following the services, located at 52411 US Highway 12 Grove City, MN 56243. Bruce will be interred at Fort Snelling Cemetery in St. Paul, MN at a later dater.
Bruce was born on March 3rd, 1937, to Norman and Agnes Ekdahl in Wisconsin. He attended Whitewater College of Law in Wisconsin and worked as a Chief Financial Officer for a Law firm.
Bruce was married to Lisa Chellin on November 5, 1995. He was a member of Harvest Community Church, and he was a Marine. Bruce loved to run; He was in 3 marathons. He kept track of his running miles and sent a letter to marine Corps association to please accept this as certification that he ran 5,000 miles during the period from May 1, 1980 to December 5, 1983. He had a dry sense of humor that his wife and all of his loved ones appreciated. He was a man of few words, but when he did speak, everyone listened, because what he did say was very valuable.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Lisa Chellin; his son, Matthew Ekdahl; his two grandchildren; and his two sisters, Audry Feddick and Andrea Lombard.
Bruce was preceded in death by his son, Steven Ekdahl; his parents, Norman and Agnes; and his brother-in-law, Jim Lombard.
