Cindy Kay Fortun

Cindy Kay Fortun, age 67, passed away surrounded by love and family on May 22nd, 2026 at Bethany Home in Litchfield, Minnesota. 

A celebration of life will be held from 1-4pm on May 30th, at the Fortun Farm at 26331 CSAH 1, Litchfield.

Cindy was born on November 22nd, 1958, in Litchfield to James Ringaman and Hazel Ringaman (Long). She attended Litchfield Highschool and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. 

On May 14th, 1982, Cindy was married to Keith Fortune in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The couple lived in Atwater from 1984 to 1993, before they settled on Keith's family farm. There they resided, raising four children, until she moved to Harmony River in Hutchinson on February 2026. 

Cindy had many jobs, from being a CNA at Augustana Homes and Presbyterian Homes in Atwater, to housekeeping. But above all else, she was a devoted homemaker. 

Being with people was Cindy's passion. She was outgoing and talkative. Sociable and friendly were two words that described her well. In addition to being with people, Cindy enjoyed balking, crafting, and gardening. 

Cindy is survived by her husband, Keith; children Cainan (Terri) Fortun of Litchfield, Sheila (Michael) Molina of Litchfield, Tyler (Tracy Thielen) Fortun of Darwin, and Zachary Fortun of Litchfield; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; Brothers Randy (Joann) Ringaman of Vadnais Heights, and David (Julie) Ringaman of Minneapolis; sister Linda (Greg) Berggren of Litchfield. 

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Hazel Ringaman, and grandson Vincent Beaudet.
