Cindy Kay Fortun

Cindy Kay Fortun, age 67, passed away surrounded by her family on May 22nd, 2026 at Bethany Home in Litchfield, Minnesota.

 A celebration of life will be held from 1-4pm on May 30th, at the Fortun Farm at 26331 CSAH 1, Litchfield, Minnesota.

Cindy was born on November 22nd, 1958, in Litchfield to Hazel (Long) and James Ringaman. She attended Litchfield High school and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Minnesota.

 On May 14th, 1982, Cindy married Keith Fortun in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The couple lived in Atwater from 1984 to 1993 and then they moved to Keith's family farm and raised their four children. She moved to Harmony River in Hutchinson in February, 2026. 

Cindy wore many hats such as being a CNA at Augustana Homes and Presbyterian Homes in Atwater, HTI, LPC, and housekeeping. Above all else, she was a devoted homemaker.

Being with people was Cindy's passion. Two words that describe Cindy well are sociable and friendly. In addition to being with people, Cindy enjoyed baking, crafting, and gardening.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Keith; children Cainan (Terri) Fortun of Litchfield, Sheila (Michael) Molina of Litchfield, Tyler (Tracy Thielen) Fortun of Darwin, and Zachary Fortun of Litchfield; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; Brothers Randy (Joann) Ringaman of Vadnais Heights, and David (Julie) Ringaman of Minneapolis; sister Linda (Greg) Berggren of Litchfield.

 She is preceded in death by her parents James and Hazel Ringaman, and grandson Vincent Beaudet.
