David Grimsgard

David Howard Grimsgard passed away August 17, 2026 at his home of rural Grove City. He was born December 14, 1936 to Ragnvald and Hilda (Pederson) Grimsgard. David was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grove City and graduated from Grove City High School in 1954. He was a life long dairy farmer on the family farm homestead of Grove City. August 30, 1969 he married Virles (Cookie) Ptacek. They were blessed with two sons Eric David and Darin Michael. He was very in tune with our Lords nature. A good hearted man with a great sense of humor and quick wit. He was a devoted family man taking special joy in his grandchildren.

David is survived by his wife Cookie, sons Eric and Darin (Brierly), grandchildren Anna (Michael) Trebil, Anders, Ellisen and Brinley. Also a sister Clarice Bredeson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers Rodney, James and Richard, and daughter-in-law Melissa.

Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026 in Grove City, MN. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Grove City, MN.
