Our Good Lord Jesus Christ granted eternal rest to His child, David Schwarzrock on March 24th, 2026 at Harmony River Care Center. David Leonhard Schwarzrock was born March 14th, 1957 in Gaylord, Minnesota. He was the long-awaited son of Leonhard and Alice (Lipke) Schwarzrock after 3 daughters. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota by Pastor R. W. Koepp. He grew up on a farm outside of Winthrop and attended Winthrop public school from which he graduated. In school he was musically talented playing in the bands and being part of a garage band. In true David style it was a polka band called The Polka Punks. He loved to entertain people. David played the trumpet, guitar, fiddle, and concertina and probably a few others we might not know about.

David furthered his education at various stages of life studying Diesel Mechanics, Machine tool trades, and finally medical imaging as life situations changed or jobs ceased. He farmed for a short time. David worked at Hutchinson Technology Inc. as employee #269 for the bulk of his work life. He had many titles for them from mailroom to drafting, to lead, to Machine tooler. Dave ended his employment years as a radiology tech for Meeker Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed his work and as with everything he did, he always gave his best effort. He valued his co-workers and made many life friends at his jobs.

David retired in 2020 but it certainly did not slow him down. He was a helper to anyone who needed it, from a ride to the airport, to hauling silage for a friend, to whatever was needed. He was a diligent son who helped to care for his mother and help steward her financial affairs. He traveled, with many good stories to tell, highlights include three trips to Alaska with his good friend Wayne Anderson, and numerous trips to Florida and Texas to see and spend time with family and friends who were like family. One of his greatest joys was his home on Lake Washington. He loved his living room view of the lake and was so thankful God granted him another summer at home after his cancer diagnosis to enjoy and appreciate the view.

David was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He as a helpful and loving son, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend to many and will be greatly missed. David is survived by his mom, Alice Schwarzrock. Sisters, Linda (Lester) Ranzau; Bonnie (Joe) Vanderpool; Sandy (Leonard) Olivarez; and Amy (Chris) Lieske. His god children also have a special place in their hearts for him, Dustin Riecke, Emily Lieske, and Brady Ranzau. He is survived by many family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father Leonhard, Grandparents, Nephew Mark Ranzau, Niece Cindy (Ranzau) Johnson, and good friend Randy Riecke. Blessed be his memory.
