Donna Swanson

Donna Swanson, age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, MN. Donna was born in Detroit, MI, on May 21, 1930 to Archie and Elsie King. The family moved to Grove City, MN when Donna was six weeks old. Donna attended Grove City School and graduated in 1948. In 1949 Donna married Donald “Duck” Swanson. They farmed for several years on Donna’s grandfather’s farm on the outskirts of Grove City.  In 1952 they bought a farm northeast of Forest City.

Later in life Donna became involved in real estate, and loved selling homes and won several awards for top sales agent. She discovered her knack for buying, rehabbing, and reselling homes and used her many artistic talents doing so. Donna was a snowbird in Mesa for a dozen years and enjoyed a group of lady friends playing golf every day.

Donna is survived by her children Michael (Cheryl) Swanson; Dawn Swanson; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren Holly (Brett) Dolliver, Katelyn and Brayden; Lucas Swanson, Adriana and Aaliyah; and Blake Swanson; and several nieces and nephews Debbie, Jeff, Melissa and Bill. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert King, sister-in-law Francis King, and niece Nancy Skindelien.

A private family graveside service will be held at Grove City Baptist Church. Arrangements are with the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral & Cremation Service, Litchfield, MN.
