Earl Anthony Dockendorf

August 2, 1934 — July 30, 2023

Watkins

Earl A. Dockendorf passed away on Sunday, July 30th, 2023 surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be August 3rd, 2023 at 2:00 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church of Watkins. Visitation will be August 2nd from 5:00-9:00 PM and 1 hour prior to services held at the St. Anthony Parish Center of Watkins. Arrangements are made with Ertl Funeral Home.

Earl was a man of few wants. As long as he was on the farm, he was happy. They say if you do something you enjoy, you never work a day in your life. Earl was lucky enough to never work a day in his life.

His passion for farming allowed him to be with his children every day while they were growing up, and his wife every day of their marriage. He never took trips or went to conventions alone and left his wife and children behind to do the work.

Taking the family out to breakfast every Sunday after church was a must. It allowed them to relax and enjoy casual, fun conversation.

His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was more than he could express. He looked forward to the holidays when all the kids would come home. He enjoyed seeing his house filled with his family.

His life revolved around his faith. God came first. He had great joy in being a part of the St. Anthony Church community. He felt at home there. Everyone made him feel like this is where he belonged.

Earl was born August 2nd, 1934 in Watkins, MN, son of Val and Caroline (Hennen) Dockendorf. He was united in marriage to Donna Hesse on August 18, 1959 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins.

Earl is survived by his children Diane Quast of Fort Ripley, Kathy (Bob) Oberg of St. Cloud, Sharon (Rich) Donnay of Watkins, Laurie (Ron) Molitor of Watkins, Steve (Lori) Dockendorf of Watkins, and Tom (Judy) Dockendorf of Richmond. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
