Ernest Radunz

Ernest C. W. Radunz, age 95, of Litchfield, MN, died at Dassel Lakeside Nursing Home, on June 16, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, June 20, 2008 at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ellsworth Township, Minnesota, with Pastor Donald G. Main officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral home, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Ellsworth Cemetery. Ernest Carl Wilhelm Radunz the son of Henry and Bertha (Kolmeier) Radunz was born on November 2, 1912 in Ellsworth Township, Minnesota. He was baptized on December 1, 1912 and confirmed October 11, 1925. Ernest received his education through 8th grade at District #24. On June 26, 1934, he was united in marriage to Dorothy J. Mattsfield at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Together they farmed for 17 years, moving to Litchfield in 1949. He then worked for Harry Radunz Tire Shop, Litchfield Police Department, the City of Litchfield as Street Commissioner and Tree Inspector. He was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Ernest is survived by his two sisters Elsie Edlund and Louise Osberg; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Dorothy; sister Lucille Ahlgren; and brothers Frank Radunz and Henry Radunz, Jr.
