Frances Mae Johnson

Frances M. Johnson, age 82, of Litchfield died on Monday, November 27, 2017 at her home in Litchfield. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Grove City. Frances Mae Johnson, the daughter of Fred and Esther (Gish) Borchert, was born on May 11, 1935, in Federal Dam, Minnesota. She grew up in Federal Dam and attended school before moving to Litchfield and finishing high school in Litchfield, graduating in 1949. She moved to Eugene, OR and worked as a school bus driver for Eugene Public Schools and then as a nurse aid at the Sacred Heart Hospital. She was married to Kenneth Toebe and they had four sons; Kenneth, Mark, Richard and Marion. She lived in Shelton, WA for about ten years before returning to Minnesota. She married Vernald E. Johnson and they lived in Grove City until Vernald died in 1996. She moved to Litchfield and in 2003, she married Wilfred Schultz. He later died in 2006 and she moved to Lincoln Apartments. Frances was very kind and thoughtful. She enjoyed hosting gatherings and reading. She is survived by her sons Richard (and Gail) Toebe of Renton, WA, and Marion (and Shellie) Toebe of Lake Stevens, WA. She is also survived by grandchildren and other “blended” family members and first husband Kenneth Toebe. She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Kenneth Toebe and Mark Toebe, husbands Wilbur Peterson, Vernald Johnson and Wilfred Schultz.
