Gayle Mary Ellson

Gayle M. Ellson, age 64, of Litchfield died on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Rice Care Center in Willmar. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 15, 2017, at the St. John Lutheran Church north of Atwater. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 14th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Gayle Mary (Stoffers) Ellson was born March 8, 1953 to Rodney and Marilyn Stoffers. She grew up north of Atwater and attended Atwater High School. She learned to love our Lord at St. John Lutheran Church and was confirmed in her faith in 1967. She married Art Ellson in 1975 at her childhood home. They lived in Litchfield, raising their three children and two grandchildren. She and Art were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield, later transferring to St. John Lutheran. Gayles passion was cooking and baking. She found great joy in her grandchildren. She loved going to all of their sporting events, band concerts, marching band competitions and choir concerts. She cherished the hugs and snuggles from the youngest grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Art Ellson of Litchfield; children Jessica Ellson of Litchfield, Nathan Ellson of Atwater, Patrick (and Renae) Ellson of Willmar; grandchildren Alexia Ellson and Collin Ellson of Litchfield, Mary Ellen Ellson and Christion Ellson of Willmar; mother Marilyn Stoffers of Atwater; brothers Steve (and Mick) Stoffers of Zimmerman, Greg (and Shari) Stoffers of Atwater, Eric (and Lori) Stoffers of Corpus Christi, TX. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her father Rodney, infant sister Carol, grandson Logan and sister-in-law Merta Stoffers.
