George H. Neperud

George H. Neperud, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2016 at the Oak Park Heights Senior Living Center in Stillwater, MN. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at First Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. George H. Neperud was born in Pigeon Falls, Wisconsin, November 28, 1922 to Roy and Mildred Neperud. He was a navy pilot during WWII flying his beloved Corsair. He was in active duty for 4 years and in the reserves for 17. He worked for Northrup King as an accountant where he met the love of his life Lois, whom he married on December 11, 1949 in River Falls, WI. He graduated from William Mitchel Law School and moved to Dassel, MN to start his first law practice. He and two others were the founders of Red Rooster Days in Dassel. Later they moved to Litchfield, MN where he continued to practice law and also served as the city and county attorney. George enjoyed being active in the Shriner organization. In his younger years he loved to play golf, be on Lake Ripley and spend time with his friends and family. He worked hard at never losing an argument. According to his sister he invented facts to win his argument, which the family never realized till years later. George is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Mildred; wife Lois; brother Roy, sister Joyce; and brother Don.
