Gerald "Jerry" Schreder

Gerald “Jerry” Schreder, 85 of Richmond, formerly of Royalton, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Cherrywood Advanced Living in Richmond. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the St. Anthony Parish Center in Watkins and will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in St. Nicholas. Arrangements are with the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Jerry was born on July 15, 1935 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was the son of Peter and Clara (Guck) Schreder. On April 28, 1973, Jerry was united in marriage to Isabelle Stein at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Together they farmed North of Royalton on a 220 acre farm from 1975 to 1989. They then downsized to a 40 acre farm near Royalton where they farmed until 2012. Jerry was also employed at Electrolux in St. Cloud from 1990 to 2007. He became a resident at Cherrywood Advanced Living in Richmond in July of 2019. Jerry enjoyed making wind ornaments from bicycle wheels and separator disks. He was a member of the Royalton Knights of Columbus. Jerry is survived by his wife, Isabelle Schreder of Watkins; brother, Ervin Schreder of St. Cloud; sisters, Dorothy (Jerry) Bromenschenkel of Sartell and Joan (Ted) Gill of St. Cloud; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and James; sister, Lorraine Thene.
