Gloria Ann Nordby

Gloria A. Nordby, age 83 of Litchfield died on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Menahga. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 20th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. Interment will be in the Spruce Grove Township, Union Cemetery. Gloria Ann Axiline Nordby, the daughter of Axel and Alina (Marjama) Johnson, was born on October 25, 1933 in Frazee, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at the Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Menahga. She grew up on a farm and attended country school before graduating from Frazee High School in 1951. On October 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Robert C. Nordby. They lived in several Minnesota various communities before moving to Litchfield in 1968. From 1969 until 1996 Gloria was employed by worked at 3M in Hutchinson. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening. Gloria loved to socialize playing cards and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her children Wayne (and Robyn) Nordby of Spokane, WA, Kevin (and Kathy) Nordby of Brownton, Steven (and Renee Twardy) Nordby of Litchfield, Jody (and Terry) Allen of Parker, CO Dana (and Keith) Nothnagel of Litchfield and Leslie Nordby and fiancé Robin Holt of New Hope. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Lindsay, Nathan, Lacey, Karsten, Lukas, Bryant, Amanda, Daris, Tami, Dustin, Gavin, Tyler, Megan; 6 great grandchildren: Bradlee, Layla, Axel, Addison, Ella, Alexis; half-brother Leonard Hendrickson of Montana and half-sister Lenora St. Martin of Northfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sisters Effie Laurila and Alice Hendrickson and brothers Floyd Johnson and Wesley Johnson.
