Gregri P. Johnson, age 73 of Litchfield, MN, died on Monday January 19, 2026 in Litchfield, MN. A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday February 13, 2026 at Johnson Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service in Litchfield, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday February 14, 2026 at Ostmark Lutheran Church in rural Forest City, MN.
Gregri Paul Johnson, the son of Vendell and Gloria (Hallberg) Johnson Boline was born March 24, 1952, in St. Cloud, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Ostmark Lutheran Church. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1970 where he played clarinet in the marching band.
Greg attended the University of Minnesota Morris prior to returning home to run the family farm in the wake of his father’s death. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, racing and maintaining stock cars, playing softball, and tending to the animals.
In September of 1973, Greg married Norma Duclos and made their home outside of Forest City and later Litchfield where they raised their family. They were married 14 years and remained good friends their entire lives.
In 1981, Greg transitioned from farming to a career with Hutchinson Technology Inc. He worked there for approximately 30 years, rising to the role of Country Manager in Thailand. There, he built numerous lifelong friendships with people from across the globe, and he always viewed Bangkok as his home away from home.
Greg married Barbara O’Connor on March 17, 1990, at Ostmark Lutheran Church. They resided in Litchfield until their passing on January 19, 2026. Greg and Barb enjoyed reading and discussing books, rescuing animals, and complaining about the Minnesota Twins.
Litchfield and the rural Watkins area were always home for Greg. He was a lifelong member of Ostmark Lutheran Church, serving on and leading the church council. He was an active member of the Litchfield Baseball Association, serving as president for several years and was elected to the LBA Hall of Fame in 2011. In recent years, much of his time was spent visiting friends and family while serving others with his genuine kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. But his greatest accomplishment in life was his children and grandchildren.
Greg is survived by his children; Ryan (Nicole) Johnson of Fairbanks, Alaska; Andrew (Hege) Johnson of Kristiansand, Norway; and Kim (Jordan) Marshall of Rapid City, South Dakota; grandchildren Hannah (Keanu Kim) Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Magnus Johnson, Oliver Johnson, Ethan Marshall, Bryce Marshall, and Lexi Marshall; sisters Karla (Steve) Hughes, Sara (Patrick) Messelt, and Andrea (Joel) Leafblad. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Johnson; parents Vendell Johnson and Gloria Boline; stepfather Rudolph Boline, and many uncles and aunts.
