Harry E. Lindbloom, age 93, of Litchfield, MN died on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Sunday at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the Litchfield United Methodist Church or donor's choice. Harry Edwin Lindbloom, the son of John and Esther (Peterson) Lindbloom, was born on October 17, 1922 in St. Francis, MN. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1940 and enrolled at Hamline University in St. Paul. He entered the Reserve Corp in 1942. In 1943 he entered the Army where he served during WWII being part of the European Theater of Operations in the 20th Armored Division. Following the war, Harry continued his education at Hamline. Harry and Lorraine Bean were married June 10, 1947 in Cedar, MN. Following his graduation in 1948, they moved to Litchfield, MN where he taught science and math and coached baseball and assisted in basketball. He received his Masters Degree at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks in 1963. He was Assistant Principal and Athletic Director of Litchfield High School until 1964 when he became the Litchfield Jr. High School Principal. He touched thousands of students lives as an educator. Harry and Lorraine wintered in Texas for many years, and after retiring he dabbled in real estate. Harry was a member of the Litchfield United Methodist Church, where he was Chairman of Trustees, Treasurer of the Trust Fund, and Chairman of the Pastoral Parish Relation committee. He was a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and was on the Planning Commission and City Council. He enjoyed golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, crossword puzzles, puttering in his yard and watching the Minnesota Twins and Gophers. He also enjoyed keeping up with current events, helping his children with home improvement projects and spending time with his coffee gang at the Main Street Café. He is survived by his children Tim (and Beverly) Lindbloom of Buffalo, MN, Susan (and Ronald) Johnson of Hutchinson, MN, Robert (and Suzanne) Lindbloom of Richmond, MN and John Lindbloom of Crystal, MN; grandchildren Jeffrey (and Sara) Lindbloom, Brian Lindbloom, Timothy (and Allison Meyer) Johnson, Rebecca (and Lee) Morris and Andrew Lindbloom; great grandchildren Abigail Lindbloom, Aiden Morris and Wyatt Morris; step great grandchildren Blake and Grant Tylutki; and sister Lillian Shattuck.
