Harvey Lee Peterson

Harvey L Peterson, age 72, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Dassel Lakeside Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, July 29th at the church. Interment will be in the Lake Ripley Cemetery. Harvey Lee Peterson, the son of Charlie and Helen (Fisher) Peterson, was born on May 31, 1944, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm in Strout and attended country school. On March 28, 1964, he was united in marriage to Darla Lindstrand of Winthrop in Hutchinson. They made their home in Litchfield. Harvey drove truck and was a line driver hauling pipe for the Alaskan pipeline. He loved Alaska and spent many years working there. Harvey also worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Teamsters. Harvey enjoyed having coffee with his friends, and in his earlier days enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife Darla Peterson of Litchfield; children, Jim Peterson of Litchfield and Jody (and Jesse) McCoy of North Richland Hills, TX; grandchildren, Kenny Peterson, Zack McCoy, Nick McCoy and Jacob McCoy and brothers, Dale (and Mable) Peterson of Sunburg and Doug (and Brenda) Peterson of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Bock and brothers, Bob Driver, Chuck Peterson and Kenny Peterson.
