Hildegard Ornberg

Hildegard E. Ornberg, age 97 of Litchfield, MN died on Sunday February 23 at Ecumen Memory Care in Litchfield, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday February 28, 2025 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. The service will be livestreamed at www.johnsonhagglund.com

Hildegard Elizabeth Ornberg, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Ertl) Wimmer was born on September 23, 1927 in Forest City, MN. She attended Forest City Country School and was united in marriage to Arnold Ornberg on August 24, 1947. She was a member of the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield and was active in the Daughters of Isabella and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking for holidays, visiting, painting ceramics, going for car rides in the country.

She is survived by her children Jean (James) Schreiner of Barrett, MN, Bob (Su) Ornberg of Litchfield, MN, Greg Ornberg of Litchfield, MN, Carolyn (Lee) Carlson of Owatonna, MN and Steve Ornberg of Zimmerman, MN; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold; parents John and Elizabeth; great grandson Jacob; and siblings Gen, Isabel, Delores, Val, Clem, Donald, Ralph and John.
