James G. Andrews

James G. Andrews, age 75, of Litchfield died on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2017, at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery with military honors by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. James, the son of Wallace and Doris (Hintz) Andrews, was born on September 12, 1942 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. He received his education there prior to joining the US Air Force at age 16. He served various places during his service, including Texas and Greenland from 1959 until 1963. In August of 1962, he was united in marriage to Marie Gallick at St. Mary on the Mount in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They lived in various places while he worked as an engineer in the apparel industry and moved to Litchfield in 1988. James enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, camping, and was an avid Packers fan. He is survived by his children; James George Andrews II (and James Bartingale) of Dummerston, Vermont, Linda (and Greg) Giese of Andover, Minnesota, Glenn (and Sherri) Andrews of Troy, Ohio, Darlene Andrews (and John Utsch) of Queen Creek, Arizona; grandchildren Mitchell Giese, Connor Giese, Ben Andrews and Carter Andrews. He is also survived by his brother Darrell (and Kathy) Andrews of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie in 1996, sister Alice Henry, and brother Calvin Spalthoff.
