Jeanette E. Lohse

January 1, 1930 — August 16, 2018

Jeanette Lohse, age 88, died on August 17, 2018, in Albertville, MN. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 12:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Interment will be held in Lake Ripley Cemetery. Our mom, Jeanette E. Haag, was born on July 28, 1930 to May (Topp) and Arthur Haag in Manannah Township. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Eden Valley. Jeanette was her dad’s right-hand man growing up on their farm and even took a year off from high school to help out. She graduated from Eden Valley High School in 1949. During her teenage years, she met Norb Lohse (the love of her life), at the Eden Valley Roller Rink. They were married on March 15, 1952 during a candlelight service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. After marriage, they lived in Litchfield for 11 years and had 4 children. In 1963, they moved to Delano where they resided for 35 years. Jeanette initiated and operated the first school lunch program at Mount Olive Lutheran School. After Norb’s retirement, they returned to Litchfield. They bought a motorhome and enjoyed traveling all over the country. (Of course, Dad loved to drive!) Our mother was a strong, loving, compassionate and caring person with a heart of gold. She loved fishing with dad, gardening, baking, needlework, music, dancing, having card parties, and entertaining, She was the first person to call on your birthday. And whenever anything good or bad happened, she was the first person you called. Thank you mom, for everything you did for us. There is definitely no place like “Mom”. Jeanette was preceded in death by husband, Norb, brother Vernon and wife Joyce, brother-in-law Walt, and parents, Art and May Haag. Survived by children Susan Anderson (Brian), David (Lorie), Ricky (Michelle), and Pamela (Scott), 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Lavonne, Elaine (Bud) and brother Art (Nancy).
