Kathlene Ann Ahlbrecht

Kathlene A. Ahlbrecht, age 72, of Litchfield, died on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Ecumen Emmanuel Home in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the Augustana Chapel in Litchfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Kathlene Ann Ahlbrecht, the daughter of William and Lilly (Kreachbaum) Bumgardner, was born on March 9, 1943, in Geneva, Nebraska. She grew up in Millard, NE and received her education there, graduating from Millard High School in 1961. On August 17, 1963, she was united in marriage to Roger Ahlbrecht in Elkhorn, NE. In 1964 they moved to Hector on the family farm. She began working for 3-M in Hutchinson. In 1975 they moved to a farm south of Cosmos. In 1977, she moved to Litchfield and began working for Jennie-O Foods in the laundry room in 1978. In 1985 they moved to Little Birch Lake in Grey Eagle, MN but continued to work for Jennie-O. They moved back to Litchfield before retiring in 2004. Kathy enjoyed bowling and life on the lake. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and the special family gatherings on the 4th of July. She is survived by her children, Roger Ahlbrecht (and Sharon Krug) of Nevada and Edwin (and Kristi) Ahlbrecht of Litchfield; grandchildren, Vahna Ahlbrecht (and Tyler Decker), Kessa Ahlbrecht (and Kyle Garfin), Andrew Ahlbrecht (and LeeAnn Garza), Ethan (and Nicole Miller) Ahlbrecht; step-grandchildren, Mike Husmann (and Puja Sharma), Tiffany (and Ben) Mohr; great grandchildren, Camilla Ahlbrecht, Owen Garfin, Alicia Ahlbrecht and step-great grandchild Kari Husmann. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Lilly Bumgardner, husband Roger and sisters Darlene and Arlene.
