Kelly Sogge

August 30, 1971 — September 24, 2023

Eden Valley

Kelly John Sogge, age 52, passed away on September 24, 2023. A service will be held
Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Church of God in Eden
Valley, MN.

Kelly was born on August 30, 1971, to Daryl Sogge and Mary Becker. He spent his life
in Eden Valley, where he raised his children and married his best friend Rachael (Olsen)
Sogge on August 18, 2012.

Anyone who knew Kelly knows he loved anything and everything about the outdoors. He
was an avid hunter and loved to spend his time in the woods or on a lake fishing. He had
a passion for taxidermy, which he studied throughout his life, and was amazingly skilled
at. Kelly worked in construction. His ability to look at a project, make a plan in his head,
then take a few notes, usually on his hand, sweatshirt, or a nearby piece of scrap, and
then masterfully build or solve a problem was unparalleled. Kelly also spent a lot of time
gardening, growing, and canning the fruits of his labor. If it weren't for how much he
valued and loved his family, his ideal setting would be in the mountains out west,
living off of the land and surrounded by nature, quiet and peaceful.

Kelly’s ride through life was often spent on a motorcycle. The wind in his hair (well his
beard anyhow) and the open road in front of him. He easily handed out kindness and
could make anyone laugh. That twinkle in his eye and the mischievous smile will be
missed by so many.

Kelly is survived by his wife, Rachael Sogge; children, Cheyenne (Cody Schiroo) Sogge,
Tristan (Emma) Sogge, Ethan Moore, Zachary Moore, and Alexis Bailey; parents, Daryl Sogge and
Mary Becker; grandchildren, Oliver Schiroo and Sawyer Schiroo; and siblings, Troy (Jill)
Sogge, Cory (Kim) Sogge, and Lacey Sogge.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Daryl Sogge Jr.; his uncle, Dean Sogge;
brother-in-law, Douglas Kielty, his grandparents, Norvald, Dolores, Ervin, and Johanna
and his great uncle Maynard.
