Larry W. Haas

Larry W. Haas, age 64, of Litchfield, MN, died on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday October 29, 2016 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, with a time for sharing at 3:30 PM. Larry William Haas, the son of Elmer W. and Viola J. (Battles) Haas was born in Marshall, MN on October 20, 1952. He graduated from Madison High School in 1971. He was united in marriage to Betty Croatt in St. Michael Catholic Church in Madison, MN on July 14, 1973. Together they had three children Blue, Buck and Doc. Throughout his life he lived and worked in various places until settling in Litchfield in 1987 where he worked for Minnesota Rubber. Over the years Larry fought against lung cancer and had many vascular surgeries. He will be remembered for his huge heart and as a skillful handyman who was often helping his friends. He had a sweet-tooth for Sundrop soda and enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching races, listening to music, taking trips to the casino, playing cards, watching western movies and spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his children Michelle Lee (Chris) Guggemos of Litchfield, MN, Patricia Marie (Adam) Rick of Litchfield, MN and Jeremiah William Haas of Litchfield, MN; grandchildren Jake Jones, Kristen Jones, Isaac Rick, Whitney Rick, Kylie Guggemos, Katelyn Guggemos and Viola Haas; sisters Cindy Asare of Maple Grove, MN and Bobbie (Gene) Zinter of Canby, MN; significant other Rae-Ann Marie Brutger; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
