Laverna B. Schuldt

Laverna Schuldt age 104 of Paynesville, MN passed away on April 3, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church as well. 

Laverna was born on Nov. 6, 1921 to Henry and Wilhelmina (Minnie Krentz) Latzke. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Henderson, MN.

Laverna and Edwin made their home and raised their family in St. Paul, MN. In Sept. 2004, she moved to Ellsworth, ME where she resided until May of 2012. She then returned to MN to reside in Litchfield until her most recent move to Paynesville, MN in 2020.

Laverna was foster parent to 6 children. She loved being a homemaker, baker and cake decorator for over 35 years. She worked for Specialty Mfg for 20 years. She enjoyed her walking and exercise group while living in ME. She also liked to volunteer and loved reading books.

Laverna is survived by her daughter, Beverly Jenkins of Ellsworth, ME; son, Eugene Schuldt of St. Paul, MN; granddaughter, Carol Perreault (Steve) of Trenton, ME; great grandson, Jonathon Sargent, Trenton, ME; sisters in-laws, Betty and Arlene Latzke; extended family, foster daughter Elaine (Lee) Peterson; grandchildren, Mindy (Don) Webb, Julie Holmgren, Victoria (Brent) Lahr, Cory (Nikki) Schultz, Terry (Mary) Peterson, Cindy (Douglas) Gunville, Sandy (Jason) Johnson; 19 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Edwin Schuldt; parents, Henry and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Latzke; in-laws, Henry and Kathrine (Katie) Schuldt; brothers, Harold, Lloyd and infant brother Franklin; sister-in-law Louise Latzke; sister and brother-in-law, Esther & Milberne Beseke; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Elsie Schuldt; son-in-law Russell Hoglund; grandson, Todd Hoglund; great granddaughter, Megan Sargent; foster daughter Mary Ann Schultz; foster grandson, Don Holmgren.
