Lawrence Louis ‘Larry’ Flaschenriem, the son of John and Frances (Schriefels) Flaschenriem was born on July 10, 1934, in St. Nicholas, MN. He attended country school in St. Nicholas and served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959 during the Korean Conflict. Larry was united in marriage to Mary Ann Fuchs on October 17, 1964, at the Church of St. Anthony in Watkins, MN. In his younger days, Larry did custom farm work with his brother. He then worked for the Watkins Farmers Co-op Creamery prior to owning and operating F&F Service for many years with his brother-in-law Jim. After closing the shop, Larry continued to work independently on trucks and farm equipment. He also became an excellent resource, and could often be found sharing his mechanical knowledge while sitting on a stool, overseeing the job. Larry was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Lion’s Club and the Watkins American Legion. Larry had a passion for Minneapolis Moline tractors and enjoyed taking road trips with family and friends. He was a loving husband and always made time for his family. He was an absolute ‘yes man’ who could take care of any situation; and will be remembered for the sound of his giggle, his warm smile, and the fact that he was always cool, calm and collected.
Larry is survived by his wife Mary Ann of Watkins; children Dan ‘Flash’ (Penny) Flaschenriem of Watkins, Robert (Julie) Flaschenriem of Watkins, Jane (Peter) Kampen of Prior Lake, Nancy (Roger) Nohner of Jordan and Lou Ann (Tom) Flaschenriem-Fickett of Cold Spring; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and his siblings Hildegarde (David) Brown-Hahn, Irene Rohr, Agnes (David) Hennen, Clara Witte, and Edwin Flaschenriem.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Frances; and siblings Andy, Margaret, Wilfred, Cecelia, Agatha, Al and John.
