LeRoy Fischer

LeRoy A. Fischer, age 71, of Litchfield died peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2017, at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 3rd at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 2nd at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Lake Ripley Cemetery, Litchfield, MN. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. LeRoy August Fischer, the son of August and Helen (Bartels) Fischer, was born on May 8, 1946, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He attended Litchfield High School, and shortly after graduating in 1965, LeRoy joined the Navy. After serving four years in the military, LeRoy spent the year of '69 riding with Hell's Angels. He graduated from the University of Mankato in 1976, and in the same year married Cynthia Bosshart. LeRoy had four children and two step children, whom he raised in Litchfield. He worked many jobs, but his passion was in auto body. He spent many hours in his shop and brought artistry to the trade. He eventually owned his own auto body shop. LeRoy also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling to Arizona to visit children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with family and was always willing to help those in need. He is survived by his children, Danyelle Cox (fiancé, Matt Peterson) of Litchfield, Heather Fischer of Mesa, AZ, Sarah (Justin) Hute of Mesa, AZ, and Matthew (finance, Abigail) Jones; step-children Jared (Tiffany) Freitag of Litchfield, Dusty Freitag (fiancé, Neva Grabow) of Litchfield; grandchildren Tiffany Cox (fiancé Gage Daak), Cassandra Hute, Makayla Hute, Gracie Hute, Emma Hute, Victoria Hute, Jaycie Fischer, Ethan Fischer, Alex Fischer, Callie Jo Freitag, Desi Freitag, Kylah Freitag and Gavin Grabow; great-grandchild Jaxon Daak; brother Larry Fischer of Grove City; sisters Lorraine Bipes of Litchfield, Leona (Gerald) Hanson of Grove City, Phyllis (Vince) Ableidinger of Litchfield, and Marlys (Delbert) Sturges of Hutchinson; former wife Cynthia Bosshart; and loving puppy Maggie.
