Marcella "Sally" M. Martin

Marcella “Sally” M. Martin, age 97, died on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Meeker Manor Rehabilitation Center in Litchfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Church of St. Philip. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday, March 19th at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home with a parish prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Marcella Margaret Martin, the daughter of Sidney and Mary (Reagan) Scribner, was born on September 26, 1920 in Manannah. She grew up in the Manannah area and attended country school. On September 7, 1946, she was united in marriage to Richard Martin in Manannah. They lived on a farm by Litchfield, before moving to Lemon Grove, California in 1952. She worked at an air craft manufacturing company. Twelve years later they returned to Minnesota and farmed near Dassel. Sally worked at Fabrictech as a quality control inspector. Richard died in 2006. Sally moved to Litchfield in 2011. She was a member of the Church of St. Philips. They enjoyed camping and the out doors. She had a large garden and enjoyed canning her produce. She liked playing cards, dominos, making brownies and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. She looked forward to luncheons with her retirement friends. Sally loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Janice (Tom) Manning of Litchfield; grandchildren Mike (Kerry) Manning, Jason Manning (Fiancee Jennifer Paul), Sean Martin and Tyler Martin; great grandchildren Gage (fiancé Natalie Davis), Bryce, Gavin and Jace. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard and son John Martin.
