Margarita Garcia

Margarita Garcia, age 89, of Litchfield, died on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019, at 2:00 PM the Cornerstone Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Margarita Garcia, the daughter of Jose and Guadalupe (Torres) Garcia, was born in Encarnacion de Guzman, Mexico on March 18, 1930. She moved to Nuevo Laredo and then Laredo, TX and worked as a house keeper and other jobs. She moved to Litchfield in 1977 and was married to Alfonso Vega. Margarita worked at Jennie-O for many years. She was a member of the Church of St. Philip before she began attending Cornerstone Church. She enjoyed knitting and cooking. Her family was very important to her and she loved taking care of her nephews. She is survived by her sister Josephina (Juan) Jiminez of Litchfield, nephews and their families Eduardo Garcia, Jose Garcia, Juan Jiminez Jr., and Miguel Jiminez. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Aflfonso, brothers Domingo, Inez, Eduardo, and a sister Antolina.
