Marilyn Francis Dougherty

Marilyn F. Dougherty age 74, of Litchfield died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Our Lady of Manannah Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery in Manannah. Marilyn Francis Dougherty, the daughter of Frank and Viola (Hansen) Steil, was born on November 14, 1943 in Richmond, MN. She grew up near Eden Valley and received her education at Dist. 12 country school and graduated from Eden Valley High School in 1962. She continued her education at the Gale institute in Minneapolis. Marilyn worked for Finger Hut in Saint Cloud for a few years following school. On June 6, 1964, she was united in marriage to Patrick Dougherty at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Eden Valley. They made their home in Litchfield. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, fishing, crocheting, needle point and painting. Her family was most important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Patrick Dougherty of Litchfield; children Wayne (and Ruth) Dougherty, Dave (and Sandy) Dougherty and Sherry (and Graham) Stevenson all of Litchfield; grandchildren, Irene Plaster, Francine McHugh, Jesse Stenger, Heather Dougherty, Ashley Yang, Tiffany Dougherty, Stephanie (and Evan) Karl, Steven Dougherty (and fiancée Alyssa Nelson), Sam Dougherty and Rebecca Stevenson; great grandchildren, Adam, Thomas, Rachael, Christian, Klarissa, Vivian, Fu and Kagin. She is also survived by her brothers Frank (and Rose) Steil of Eden Valley and Jim (and Deb) Steil of Litchfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant children, Gerald, Eric and Christina.
