Marvin Weseman

Marvin Weseman, age 93 formerly of Grove City, MN died on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Lakeside Health Care Center in Dassel, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield, MN.  Visitation will be held one hour prior.

Marvin Weseman, the son of Henry and Inis (Lyons) Weseman was born the ninth of nine children on July 7, 1930 in Martin County, MN.  He grew up in rural Triumph, MN and received his education in a country school. Marvin was united in marriage to Frances Eckles on December 14, 1947 in the Albion Church in Godahl, MN. They lived in Ceylon, MN before moving to Grove City in 1961, where he farmed. Marvin was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grove City for many years. He later became a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield.  He enjoyed farming, playing cards, fishing and his dogs.  

Marvin is survived by his son David J. (Valorie) Weseman of Litchfield, MN; 7 grandchildren Lorri Boonstra (Danny Buer) of Atwater, MN, David L. Weseman of Litchfield, MN, Shelly (Mike) Dahl of Grove City, MN, Jody Weseman (Ben Herbert) of Morro Bay, CA, Mike Weseman (Loretta Whitcomb) of Grove City, MN, Kate Weseman of Watkins, MN, Kelly (Jerod) Herzog of Litchfield, MN; 7 great grandchildren Jeff Dahl (Tyler Hoepner), Paige Dahl (Parker Nason), Jake Boonsta (Karla Schultz), Lilly Boonstra, Lennon Herzog, Marshall Herzog and Violet Weseman; sisters-in-law Bonnie Weseman, Abbie Larsen, and Judy Neff; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Frances, daughter Debbie, parents and 8 siblings.
