Michael Vrooman

Michael “Cuz” Vrooman died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the age of 84. He was surrounded not only by those present in his room, but also by the love, prayers, and thoughts of so many dear to him who were there in spirit. He was welcomed into heaven by loved ones who had gone before him - those he missed every day. We imagine it was one heck of a party.

Mike attributed his growing fatigue to “just being an old guy” and spent his final months unaware of what was to come. In his last days, he was blessed to be in one of his favorite places - the west coast of Florida - making cherished memories with close family, including all of his children and their partners, as well as his grandchildren. He enjoyed the warmth of the sun, his favorite oysters and peel-and-eat shrimp, the view of the ocean, and, most importantly, being surrounded by love.

Mike will be privately laid to rest with his parents. A celebration of his life will be announced later this year and held just as he would have wanted - with all his people, great food, and plenty of laughter and shared memories. There are no words to express how deeply he will be missed.
