Monica "Toots" Collins

Monica "Toots" Collins, age 70 of Eden Valley, passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield at 11:00AM. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior. 

Toots was born at the Brown County Hospital in Springfield, MN on May 29, 1953 to Linus Andrew and Iolanda Alice (Kosel) Suess. She was baptized and confirmed in the catholic faith. She grew up in the rural Bird Island and Hector, MN areas. She accomplished getting her GED.

On September 25, 1998, she was united in marriage to Dennis Collins Jr. in Hutchinson, MN. Together they were able to share over 25 years of marriage, living in Eden Valley, MN.

Over the years, Toots worked as a waitress at Ewer’s Café in Hector, Hutch Café in Hutchinson, and a nursing assistant at Watkins Hilltop care center. 

Toots loved her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved to fish, collect porcelain dolls, watch NASCAR racing, go for long drives in the car, and watch bull riding. She loved animals, especially her 2 cats, Tillie & Frodo. Everyone knew she loved the “Tweety Bird” cartoon character. 

Toots is survived by her husband Dennis Collins Jr. of Eden Valley; children Michelle Levering, of Castle Rock, CO, Nichole (Curtis Jr.) White of Litchfield; siblings Larry (Judy) Suess of Hutchinson, Mark Suess of Bird Island, sister-in-law Julie Suess of Benson; 7 grandchildren Marion Bush III, Zane Bush, Cale Levering, Libby Levering, Kacey Levering, Teagan Levering, Wyatt Levering; aunts Norma Brau and Diane Doom’ many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, infant son Larry Hable Jr., brother Linus Suess Jr; Son-in-law Jim Levering; many other family members and pets.
