Neil S. Dezelske, age 54, of Litchfield died on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2020, at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Litchfield.
Neil Sheldon Dezelske, the son of David and Darlene (Case) Dezelske, was born on November 5, 1965, in Farmington, MN. He attended school in New Prague, MN and graduated from New Prague High School in 1984. He continued his education at North Central University in Minneapolis. On October 10, 1986 he married his best friend, Kimberly Kyhn in Farmington, MN. They ministered together in Rockford, IL, Hastings, MN, and Apple Valley, MN before he became a children’s pastor at Bethany Assembly of God in Adrian, MI. In 2011, they moved back to Minnesota where Neil was the children’s pastor at Life Assembly in St. Cloud. He then accepted a call as Senior Pastor at the Lighthouse Church in Litchfield in 2015. Neil had an enormous impact on many children and families throughout his ministry. He was very creative and caring, he enjoyed gardening, and he had a way of resurrecting even the sickliest of plants. He also enjoyed cooking, baking, and decorating for Christmas. He was passionate about his Savior Jesus Christ and helping people. He loved his family, and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Kim Dezelske of Litchfield; children Jonathan (Amanda) Dezelske of Adrian, MI, Kevin Dezelske of Florida, Timothy (Camilia) Dezelske of Hutchinson, Candace Dezelske of Litchfield, Kayla Dezelske of St. Cloud, Julius Dezelske of Litchfield and Avani Dezelske of Litchfield, 10 grandchildren, his parents David and Darlene Dezelske, a brother David (Denise) Dezelske of Belle Plain and Cyanna (Tom) Barry of Glencoe . He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a grandson Merrick Statz.
