On June 26, 1948, she married Glen Warren Doering at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. They moved to Frederic, Wisconsin in 1949 and Trimont, Minnesota in 1951 where Glen managed lumber yards. Norma maintained friendships with her bridge club girls for 40 years, was involved in the Natural Food Coop and Shaklee since the 1970's, and called on ""Newcomers"" to Litchfield for 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with Glen at the Leech Lake cabin fishing and walking. Friends knew her by always having the coffee pot on, bars or cookies to be shared, along with her ""infamous"" rhubarb wine which she made yearly for 50 years! In her past five years, as she declined with dementia, she fought hard both physically and mentally but was yet a Christian witness to family and staff that cared for her.
