Patricia "Patti" E. Pesola

January 1, 1956 — March 30, 2022

On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, Patricia Pesola gained her wings as she passed away peacefully at Meeker Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service in Litchfield. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Patricia Elaine Pesola was born on November 13, 1956, in Duluth, Minnesota to Josephine Mencel. Patti was the second oldest out of her siblings. She attended Denfeld High School where she met her soulmate, Larry Pesola. While dating they used to run the town and she used to love going roller skating and ice skating. While dating Larry, her future mother-in-law became ill and Patti became her caregiver. That led her to become a nurse in a nursing home. Patti and Larry were married on July 10, 1976, at the Temple Baptist church in Duluth. Soon after they were married, Larry joined the United States Air Force. This began their journey around the world. On July 3, 1979, Patti gave birth to a daughter named Ann while they were stationed in North Carolina. From there they moved to South Dakota and onto England. While in England, Patti gave birth to their son John. Shortly after, they headed back to the United States and lived in Texas and Idaho before retiring back to Minnesota. After moving back to Minnesota, Patti remained a devoted housewife and caregiver to her children. Although she loved being home with her family, she also missed working. She got a job as a maid in a hotel for many years before switching to retail. As much as she enjoyed working outside of her home, her real joy began when she became a grandmother. She was so proud to be the grandmother to Kristina-Marie, Ashleigh, and Alyssa. She wanted to spend as much time with them as she could, so she became their daycare provider as well. Patti was so proud of her granddaughters that she supported them through everything from athletic events, band concerts, choir, plays, and pageants. It did not matter what the occasion was, she was always there. Patti enjoyed her morning coffee while watching the news. She was a huge Vikings fan and watched as much football as she could. She liked playing cards with her daughter and grandkids. One of her favorite things was to watch game shows. It didn’t matter if they were new episodes or from her younger years. If Patti was not at home, she was more than likely out shopping or at bingo with her daughter. She was always full of life and willing to try new things. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved her. Patricia is survived by her daughter, Ann; granddaughters: Kristina-Marie (Lance), Ashleigh, and Alyssa; as well as her brother, Doug. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Larry, son John, mother Josephine, and brothers Richard and Ronald. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred. Donations may be sent to: Ann Cyrus, 817 W. Sixth Street, Litchfield, MN 55355.
