Perry Lee Dragt

Perry Lee Dragt, age 71, died on Saturday, August 25th, 2018, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. The visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 31, 2018, at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Perry Lee Dragt, son of John Henry and Ruby Gertrude (Brink) Dragt, was born on September 6, 1946, in Willmar. He graduated from Central Minnesota Christian High School in Prinsburg and continued his education with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Perry served in the U.S. Army Reserve for six years. On May 14, 1976, he was united in marriage to Carol Oberg. Perry worked for the Meeker County Sheriff's Department and the Grove City Police Department. He also worked at Holmquist Lumber in Grove City and 3M in Hutchinson and Alexandria. In his retirement, he was a driver for Litchfield Chrysler Center. He enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, playing slow pitch softball and being a first responder at the Grove Creek Raceway. He loved to watch old shows on TV including Carol Burnett, Gunsmoke and The Rifleman. Perry was a member of the Litchfield American Legion Post 104, Grove City Council Member, Grove City Jaycees, Grove City Rescue Squad, and the Grove City Fire Department where he spent time as the Fire Chief. He was also a member of the First Lutheran Church of Litchfield. He is survived by his wife Carol Dragt of Litchfield; children Jill (Butch) Kingsly of Fargo, Ryan (Monica) Dragt of Fargo, Kimberley (Lance) Brown of Minneapolis and Sara (Andy) Miller of Litchfield; grandchildren Tyler and Megan Kingsly, Harli, Korri and Maysen Dragt, and Raigan, Hayden, Kaisyn and Brityn Miller; sister Sandi (Michael) Hirman; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ron, Phil and Duane.
