Richard ‘Dick’ C. Dalton, age 84 of Paynesville, MN died on Wednesday September 9, 2026 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday September 19, 2026 at Johnson Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN. Interment will be held at Maine Prairie Cemetery in Kimball, MN.
Richard Charles Dalton, the son of Richard and Ethel (Gardner) Dalton was born on January 20, 1942 in Clearwater, MN. He graduated from Kimball High School in 1960. In 1967 he married Donna Marsh in St. Paul, MN; and was later married to Nancy Beckers-Roden in 1974. When Dick lived in the twin cities, he worked at the North Side Bakery, the Lincoln Dell and the Brother’s Bakery, before he began driving truck and working in construction. He was proud to be a part of the Eagan Fire Department and was an independent truck driver for many years. When he moved to Grove City, he began working for Willmar Redi Mix where he worked as a dispatcher and earned the nickname ‘Dusty’. Dick enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and was an avid fisherman. He had a humble and outgoing personality and enjoyed watching Western television and movies. He could often be found at the Grove Creek Speedway, where he watched his granddaughters race junior dragsters.
He is survived by his daughter Tamara (Tom) Warner; son Kyle Dalton; grandchildren Lillian (Jacob), Simone (A.J.), Katharine, Morgan and Aldo; a brother Jerry (Nan); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Ethel; siblings Betty, Doris, George, Ernie, Gladys, Bev and Violet and many cousins.
