Robert August Pommerer

Robert August Pommerer, age 92, passed away peacefully at home in Litchfield, Minnesota, on November 1, 2026.

Robert was born on January 18, 1934, in Valley City, North Dakota, and was raised in Jacobson, Minnesota. On January 24, 1953, he married Shirley Cordell in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, beginning a life together that would grow into a large and loving family.

Robert drove truck for many years, but he was so much more than the work he did. He was a dear friend to many, the kind of man people were glad to have in their corner. He could fix absolutely anything, and he never once needed instructions to do it. Give him a problem and a little time, and he’d have it running again. He also had a soft spot for every animal he met, and they seemed to know it.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings; his son; and two granddaughters.

He will be deeply missed by his children, David Pommerer and Michael (Janie) Pommerer; his best friend, Benny; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren, along with many friends who were lucky enough to know him.

Robert’s hands built, mended, and steadied the people and things he loved. He leaves behind a family that is stronger for him, and a legacy of generosity, quiet humor, and a job well done.

A life well lived is measured not by the years we spend on earth, but by the kindness we show, the love we give, and the memories we leave behind. Though Bob is no longer with us in body, his spirit continues in every heart he touched.
