Steven Harold Nordby, age 66, of Litchfield, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, 2:00 pm with visitation starting at 11:00 am at Johnson Hagglund Funeral Home.
Born January 28th, 1960, in Waconia, Minnesota to Robert and Gloria (Johnson) Nordby. Steve shared stories of some of his earliest memories, enjoying his childhood family home near Lake Minnetonka. He reminisced on his days there playing, fishing and even getting into some brotherly mischief. His parents continued to expand in both family and careers, eventually settling in Litchfield, MN. Around age 17, he began what would be a long story blend of love and life with his partner, Renee Twardy. Continuing life he appreciated and utilized the artistry of drywalling, eventually settling in a career path at 3M. Here he would work effortlessly for over 35 years. On August 18th, 1987, he and Renee welcomed their first child, Daris, into the world. While managing life’s twists and turns, Steve has always enjoyed traveling and the outdoors and made major efforts to ensure he and his family could experience and enjoy everything nature has to offer. On August 14th, 1997, he and Renee welcomed their daughter, Tamara. Together, Steve’s family created countless memories of happiness, support, perseverance and unconditional love. Steve is widely known as a seasoned NASCAR fan and had the pleasure of opportunity to visit multiple raceways alongside his wife and family. Steve always has had a deep appreciation for music, specifically Old Rock and Blues. His passion was also true for great cinematography. His movie and series recommendations will continue to be unmatched. Most of his enjoyments stemmed from the simplest features of life. He found major peace in birdwatching, puzzle making and a simple meal with family. His cooking and grilling abilities had always been in-replicable. His devotion to his wife and children will be forever remembered and cherished.
Steve is preceded in death by his late wife, Renee Twardy along with his parents Robert and Gloria (Johnson) Nordby.
Steve is survived by his children, Daris Nordby and Tamara Ahl, along with his son-in-law David Ahl III. Behind he also leaves a loving family including siblings Wayne (Robyn) Nordby, Kevin (Kathy) Nordby, Jody (Terry) Allen, Dana (Keith) Nothnagel, and Leslie (Robin) Holt. Beyond he leaves behind a collection of nieces and nephews, as well as many dearly loved friends and acquaintances.
