Steven Dwaine Thompson

Steven D. Thompson, age 55, passed away from complications of diabetes on Tuesday November 15 at Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, MN. A funeral service will be held at Johnson Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield on Tuesday, November 22nd. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 and the funeral directly afterward at 6:00. Steven Dwaine Thompson was born February 6, 1961 to Wilfred (Bill) and Lorraine (Radunz) Thompson in Litchfield, MN. His father, Bill, died in a car accident on a blizzardy November day in 1961. Lorraine married Leonard Peipus in November 1962, and he became ""Dad"" to Steve and his siblings Allen and Linda and later to children of his own, Carol and Richard. Steve attended school in Litchfield. After school, he worked for a time as a delivery person for Schwans. He then worked for many years for Riebe Sod and Creative Landscaping, until his diabetes made him unable to work. Steve was a very hard worker, and he developed close relationships with his co-workers sharing many a laugh. He loved yard work and kept a meticulous lawn and beautiful flower gardens. He also liked working on small engines repairing lawn mowers and snow blowers. He was a Vikings fan and enjoyed watching football. He loved grilling out on a nice summer day. Steve helped take care of his mom as she aged and did many nice things for her. He enjoyed a very close relationship with his sister carol and her sons. Steve is survived by his mother, Lorraine Peipus, brothers Allen (and Barbara) Thompson and Richard Peipus (and fiancé Kris Lambertson), and sisters Carol Litzau and Linda (and Daniel) Boedigheimer and by many nieces, nephews and friends. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Wilfred (Bill) Thompson and his stepfather, Leonard Peipus. Also by his grandparents, Rudolph and Myrtle Radunz, Christian and Raechel Thompson, and Katie and Max Peipus.
