Todd J. Hinkle

Sadly, and way too soon, Todd Hinkle, forever 56, passed away on August 11, 2026 at his home in Minneapolis, MN. A family service is being planned along with a celebration trip to a Twins game in their 2027 season.

Todd James Hinkle was born in New Ulm, MN to Robert and Luetta (Nelson) Hinkle on April 2, 1970. He grew up in Albert Lea, MN where he graduated in the class of 1988. He continued his education in Austin, MN and also at the University of Minnesota through business extension. Todd worked at Van Meter electronic components for many years. He was well loved and known in the Minneapolis service industry where he worked at Mac’s Industrial Sports Bar, and previously at the Iron Door, First Avenue, Surdyk’s Liquor and Hy-Vee.

Todd was fun-loving, a sports and music enthusiast, forever smiling and rarely sitting still. He excelled at fantasy football and could talk sports statistics. He enjoyed traveling the US to visit sport stadiums, watch games, and attend concerts. He could often be found watching a Twins, Wild or Vikings game; or drinking a beer at Dan Kelly’s or Mac’s, always with friends. He will be missed.

Todd is survived by his brother Scott (Sarah) Hinkle; aunts and uncles Karen Yost, Don Nelson, Nancy (John) Hoenisch and Mike Hinkle; cousins Krista (Jeff), Jeffery; Jeremy (Allison), Pamela (Reese), Sue (Barth), Dave, Steve (Michelle), Jenn (Paul), J.P. and Jason (Amity); along with many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Luetta; grandparents Carroll and Margaret Nelson and Doc and Bethel Huntley; and aunts and uncles Sonja, Marvin and Terry.
