Wayman Willard Peterson was born on September 22, 1936 to Saben and Viola (Mills) Peterson on the family farm near Corvuso. He attended District 82 school through the eighth grade, then Litchfield High School. He quit school to work on the farm, but returned to finish his education, graduating in 1956. He enjoyed playing football and wrestling. He made many friends and always looked forward to his class and all-school reunions. On September 17, 1960 he was united in marriage to Donna Ulrich at the Corvuso Church of the Nazarene. They raised hogs, milked cows and farmed the land. In his free time, he enjoyed driving the countryside looking at fields, talking about farming and watching ACGC wrestling. Wayman was an active member at the Corvuso, and later, Litchfield Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the Gideons and enjoyed sharing his faith. He loved spending time with his family. He often said ""If I had known how grand the grandkids would be, I'd have had them first"". He could be found playing with them when they were young and watching their activities, including farming, as they grew. Wayman lived on the family farm for 79 years. In October of 2015 he became a resident at Prairie Senior Cottage in Hutchinson. He is survived by his wife Donna who still lives on the family farm near Cosmos, his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Angie Peterson of rural Cedar Mills; daughter and son-in-law Lori and John Weseman of rural Litchfield, grandkids Brittany, Taylor, Nick, Adam, Cole and Broc; sister Elvera Johnson of rural Cosmos; brother-in-law Lester (and Edith) Ulrich of Savage; sisters-in-law Rose Lenort of Mankato and Darlene Ulrich of Hamburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
