Delrose D. Mies, of Albertville, formerly of Watkins, died on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Engel Hause Assisted Living in Albertville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watkins. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at church. Interment will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Watkins.
Delrose Dorothy Mies, the daughter of Albert and Barbara (Erpelding) Hennen, was born on September 6, 1932, in Watkins. She attended school in Kimball and graduated from Kimball High School in 1950. After high school she worked for a few years at the Watkins bank. On April 28, 1956, she was united in marriage to Verlin Mies at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. She began working as a bookkeeper for her husband at Mies Motors. She was a member of St. Anthony’s, Catholic Aide, Christian Mothers, the VFW auxiliary, and was a Cub Scout Den mother. She volunteered at the Blood Mobile for over 20 years. Delrose enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and praying. She was an avid Twins fan and also enjoyed vacations to Branson. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Richard Mies of Minnetonka, Ronald Mies of Springfield, MO, and Patricia (Larry) Berning of Buffalo, grandchildren Alyssa (Mark) Fennig, Lara (Dan) Fiecke, great grandchildren Frank Fennig, Ayda Fiecke, and Eli Fiecke. She is also survived by her siblings Leila (Eldred) Froehling, Jeanette Libbesmeier of Watkins, Shirley Schoonover of Baxter, Kenneth (Marge) Hennen of Maple Lake, and sister-in-law Mary Ellen (Mies) McKibben of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Verlin, sister Kathleen Theisen and brother Harold Hennen.
